Board and Kohli made a unanimous decision and Ravi Shastri was chosen as head coach of Indian team. CAC said that Tendulkar was in strong favour of Shastri along with Indian skipper Kohli. Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman on the other hand were in favour of Virendra Sehwag. The board concluded that Shastri was more fitting for the position.
