Wimbledon 2017: New record set as Federer defeats Cilic to get his eight Wimbledon title



Wimbledon 2017 saw a new record being set as Switzerland’s Roger Federer defeated his Croatian contender Marin Cilic in the finals today to win his eight Wimbledon title. The match ended in 1 hour 41 minutes with 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 scores for Federer and Cilic respectively. In doing so he broke Pete Sampras and William Renshaw’s record of seven Wimbledon single titles. Thus, Federer has now become the record holder of winning maximum number of Wimbledon titles.
