India, US agree Pakistan must address concerns of international community on terrorism

Washington: Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale met US Undersecretary of State for political affairs David Hale during which both sides called on Pakistan to meaningfully address the concerns of the international community on terrorism, including cross-border terrorism. Hale and Gokhale also agreed that terror outfits and countries that support or assist terrorism in any form should be held accountable.

The Indian government’s diplomatic drive is seen as part of its effort to get Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar listed as a global terrorist. The UNSC’s 1267 sanctions committee chaired by Indonesia will take a call and if no member country seeks clarification then the JeM chief will be designated as a global terrorist.
