Chennai: In a case reported from Tamil Nadu’s Madurai, three Railway staff members have been placed under suspension for ignoring the safety protocol after they gave line clearance to two trains for running on the same track. The incident happened on Friday.
Reportedly, the officials have been suspended for negligence, they were the station masters of Kallikudi and Tirumangalam Railway stations. They were identified as Beem Singh Meena and Jayakumar and Controller Muruganandham, all from the Madurai division.
According to news agency PTI, officials said that the train bound for Sengottai from Madurai had halted at Tirumangalam station at 5.30 PM on Thursday when the Sengottai-Madurai train was received in the same track.
