As Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes oath, mother Heeraben Modi watches swearing-in ceremony

Ahmedabad: As 68-year-old Narendra Damodardas Modi took oath as the 17th Prime Minister of India at the historic Rashtrapati Bhavan, Heeraben Modi, mother of the PM watched the swearing-in ceremony sitting 900 kilometres away at her residence in Ahmedabad.

After BJP’s landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections Modi visited his home state Gujarat on a two-day visit and met his mother and sought her blessings.

The PM’s mother stays with Modi’s younger brother in Raisan, Ahmedabad.
